I took this photograph WAY back in 2003, during a magical week I spent alone in Stevens Canyon. Oddly enough, it turned out that this was the same week that Aaron was cutting his arm off about 60 miles northeast of me. The Grotto is a pretty magical place, and still, hopefully, less visited compared to most of the other remote side canyons of the Escalante. I took the video below near my slickrock camp just a few wiggles below the Grotto ... it is a very nice campsite, and the canyon wall on the other side from the tent is so undercut that it overhangs the tent!
