"High Desert Aspen in Early Spring Storm" - Owyhee Desert
This is one of my favorite landscape photographs, one that I consider
entirely unprecedented and unique. It was taken during a very stormy
series of days, when I was limited to gravel roads in the Owyhees because
all other roads were impassable. As I was wandering around searching for
a composition, I discovered this tortured collection of aspen trees.
Once I found a composition, I waited to see what the sky and light may
do. Very briefly, the clouds opened up in such a way as to illuminate
the aspen trees. Conceptually, to me, the aspen trees look like mysterious
creatures running across the hillside.
