"Desert Flowers and Critter Tracks" - Escalante Canyons

This is definitely one of my most favorite photographs of desert flowers. The natural arrangement is something I do not think I could have improved on if given a chance. In addition, in a large print you can see many colorful tracks in the sand from insects and animals.

These flowers were located in Davis Canyon - a remote canyon near the end of the Hole in the Rock Road in the Escalante river canyon system. Davis Canyon is known for being the last known place that Everett Ruess camped before disappearing in 1934. Everett is something of a folk hero and if you do not know his story I would encourage you to explore further.
